It was a Portuguese navigator who stood out for being the 1st to make the first circumnavigation trip (the 1st trip around the world)
In 1517 he leaves for Seville and decides to help Spain to reach the Moluccas to the West, by seas not reserved to the Portuguese as it was conceived in the Treaty of Tordesilhas. His voyage back to the world performed in the service of the King of Spain, Charles V.
Its journey begins then in the year of 1519 until 1522
It was the first to reach the land of Fire in the extreme south of the American continent, and reached the Magellan Strait (a navigable passage of 600 km south of South America) crosses the Pacific Ocean - name attributed by Fernão de Magalhães - to think that This ocean was more Pacific than the Atlantic Ocean

Fernão arrives in Cebu, in the Philippines on April 7, 1521, beginning trade with the natives. Days later Fernão de Magalhães, dies in combat with the natives in the island of Mactan, Philippines at the age of 41 years the 27 of April of 1521 and thus does not end his mission to conclude his trip back to the world.
However, his traveling companion, João Lopes Carvalho, continued his journey, leaving Cebu in March 1522, after some time, whoever started to command the fleet became Juan Sebastián Elcano
Elcano and his crew finish their journey back to the world arriving in Seville on September 6, 1522.
